I've been an Isbell fan since 2007 when someone gave me Decoration Day. I fell in love with DBT, and was heartbroken when Isbell left the band. But what a joy to see him grow into the artist he has become. I'd be hard pressed to name a favorite, but usually I would answer Hope the High Road. Question: What makes you think Songs That She Sang in the Shower is about domestic violence?
I saw the DBT a few years back at a small venue. What a show! I've always felt like that song was about domestic violence based on the "punch" and then the hospital visit, and the conversation about whether she was ready to be alone. But, like all art, that's how it hits me! Thanks for the comment!
